Taxes

Tax Payments

Tax payments may be made by cash, cheque or money order in person or via mail at the Municipal Office during regular office hours.  Payments may also be made via telephone and internet banking using your personal electronic banking services.  Please ensure that any electronic payments are made at least 3 working day priors to the tax payment due date in order for the payment to credited to your tax account on time.

Residents with large tax bills or arrears taxes are encouraged to make monthly payments.  Please contact the Treasurer for further information.


 Final 2008 Tax Billing

The final tax billing was due on September 30,2008.  Late payments are subject to a penalty of 1¼ %, applied the first day after the due date.  Interest of 1¼% is added the first day of every month thereafter.


Tax Collections

For fairness to all taxpayers, the Township has approved a Collections Policy that sets out procedures for the collection of arrears taxes.


Property Assessment

The assessment value of your property that is used to calculate municipal and education taxes on, is the responsibility of the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC).  If you have questions about your property assessment, do not agree with or have concerns about your property's assessment, please visit MPAC's website at www.mpac.ca or call 1-866-296-6722.
