PUBLIC MEETINGS CONCERNING PROPOSED 

OFFICIAL PLAN AMENDMENTS 

TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Gillies is undertaking a review of its Official Plan under Section 26 of the Planning Act, R.S.P. 1990, c.P.13, as amended.  The following meetings are scheduled to be held in the Council Chambers at the Gillies Municipal Office: 

Open House - October 26, 2009 at 6:30 PM - to give the public an opportunity to review and ask questions about the information and material related to the Official Plan revisions that have been proposed.  

Public Meeting - November 9, 2009 at 6:30 PM - to give the public an opportunity to make representations in respect of the proposed revisions to the current plan. 

A COPY of the proposed Official Plan amendments and/or information and material is available at www.gilliestownship.ca or for public inspection between 9:00 AM and 4:30 PM at the Gillies Municipal Office. 

IF A PERSON OR PUBLIC BODY does not make oral submissions at the public meeting or make written submissions to the Township of Gillies before the proposed Official Plan amendments are adopted, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision of the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing to the Ontario Municipal Board. 

IF A PERSON OR PUBLIC BODY does not make oral submissions at the public meeting or make written submissions at a public meeting to the Township of Gillies before the proposed Official Plan amendment is adopted, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Municipal Board unless, in the opinion of the Board, there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party.
