Hauling Permits
A hauling permit is required to exceed the posted maximum registered gross vehicle weight of 10,000 kg along municipal roads in Gillies Township during the months of March to December. A fee of $25 is to be submitted with the application.
The following vehicles are exempt from the requirement of a hauling permit:
- any vehicle while engaged in construction or maintenance of a highway;
- vehicles operated by police or fire for emergency purposes;
- a bus or public vehicle;
- a vehicle being operated for the purpose of making a delivery to or returning from a delivery to a residence or business in the townwship along a municipal roadway;
- a vehicle operated by an owner or operator for the purpose of leaving or returning to the residence of the owner or operator who lives along a municipal roadway;
- vehicles engaged in fuel or water delivery, the hauling of sewage, the construction or maintenance of septic systems, or the delivery of construction materials;
- vehicles operating during the months of January and February.
